But the sense of commitment to a common cause drew them together as they sought to form a country of peace, harmony and prosperity.
Having lost their traditional homelands to the Americans, the Loyalist Haudenosaunee migrated with their fellow Loyalists to the relative safety of Upper Canada at a tract of land along the Grand River.
Today, the Six Nations of the Grand River is Canada’s largest Native community and Grand River Branch is honoured to include descendants of those unique Loyalists among its membership
